The Artisan Bakery on the Ormeau Road
There is a wee bakery on the Ormeau Road that smells extraordinary from the pavement. Step inside and you will find golden pastries stacked in the cabinet, loaves cooling on the rack, and the kind of welcome that makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. That is Krumb, Belfast's artisan bakery at 258 Ormeau Road, and it has quickly become one of the most loved spots on the road.

An Artisan Bakery in Belfast Built on Craft and Community
Krumb was founded in 2024 by Sadhbh Baker, who spent fifteen years working in some of Ireland's best bakeries before opening her own. The idea was simple: bring genuinely great, handmade baking to the Ormeau Road. No shortcuts, no compromise. Just proper craft, every single day.
Everything at Krumb is handmade from scratch and baked fresh in small batches. The croissants are laminated by hand. The sourdough is long-fermented. The lemon meringue tart is built layer by layer, from buttery pastry shell to glossy toasted meringue. None of it comes from a packet, and none of it is made to sit around for days. When the cabinet empties, it means it was a good day.
This is what artisan baking actually means: time, skill, and ingredients worth caring about.
The Ormeau Road Shop
You will find us at 258 Ormeau Road, Belfast BT7 2FZ, open Wednesday to Sunday from 9am to 4pm. The shop is small and lovely, the kind of place that feels like it belongs exactly where it is. The Ormeau Road has always been a neighbourhood that loves good food, and Krumb fits right in.
Come in and you will find the cabinet filled with whatever is fresh that morning. That might mean flaky croissants, pain au chocolat, cruffins, cinnamon buns, pastel de nata and danishes. There will be sourdough and seeded sourdough loaves, batch bread, wheaten and soda bread. And depending on the season, you might find strawberry tarts made with peak-season local strawberries, salted caramel brownies, financiers, lemon meringue, tiramisu, or scones.
On the savoury side, there is a BLT on homemade focaccia with Stonebridge Farm bacon (proper rare-breed stuff), a Gratin Danish with smoked Hegarty's cheddar, sausage rolls baked fresh daily, and a vegetarian savoury pie. It is a proper spread, and it changes with the seasons.
Local Producers We Are Proud to Champion
Being a community bakery means more than having a friendly face behind the counter. It means choosing suppliers who care as much as we do. Our bacon comes from Stonebridge Farm and their rare-breed pigs. The cheese in our savoury bakes comes from Ballylisk and Hegarty's. Our coffee beans are roasted by Lucid Coffee Roasters. We use Honest Toil olive oil, serve Living Things sodas and Good and Proper tea, and our beautiful boards and coasters are made by Bough and Burr.
We source locally wherever we possibly can, and we think you can taste it. When the ingredients are this good, the baking does not need to work as hard.
More Than Just a Bakery
As well as the daily cabinet, Krumb offers custom and wedding cakes, Cutie Pies (our gorgeous mini tarts, perfect for events), gift cards, and a retail larder stocked with things you will want to take home. We also do click and collect, wholesale to local cafes and restaurants, and we are always happy to talk custom orders.
If you are planning a wedding, a birthday, or any celebration that deserves something truly special, get in touch. We love a good excuse to bake something beautiful.
