Large sharing tiramisu from Krumb Bakery Belfast, layered with coffee-soaked sponge, mascarpone cream and a dusting of cocoa

Tiramisu, Two Ways

Tiramisu is one of those desserts that is almost impossible not to love. Rich mascarpone cream, coffee-soaked sponge, a dusting of cocoa. It is indulgent, it is a little bit elegant, and it is exactly the kind of thing we love making at Krumb. In fact, we love it so much we make it two ways. Tiramisu in Belfast, done properly, and done twice.

Tiramisu Two Ways: The Cookie and the Sharing Dessert

At Krumb we offer our tiramisu as both a tiramisu cookie and as a large sharing dessert. Two completely different experiences, both rooted in the same idea: proper flavour, made from scratch, no shortcuts.

The tiramisu cookie is a wee moment of bakery magic you can hold in your hand. Think of all the flavour of a classic tiramisu, translated into a soft, indulgent cookie. Coffee, cream, cocoa. It is one of those things that sounds like it should not work quite as well as it does, and then it absolutely does. Perfect with a coffee. Perfect at any time of day, honestly.

The sharing tiramisu is a proper event. Made for two or more, it is the kind of dessert you bring out when you want to make an impression. Layers of coffee-soaked sponge, mascarpone cream and cocoa, built up properly, chilled and ready to go. It is an Italian dessert done with the same care and craft that goes into every bake at Krumb.

The Coffee Connection

Tiramisu means, roughly, pick me up, and the coffee is a big part of why. We work with Lucid Coffee Roasters for all our coffee at Krumb, and that quality carries through into our baking. When espresso is at the heart of a dessert, the coffee matters. Lucid's roasts are bold and complex in exactly the right way for a tiramisu, giving the sponge real depth rather than just bitterness.

It is the kind of joined-up thinking we believe in at Krumb. The same producer who makes your morning flat white is contributing to the tiramisu cookie you have with it. That is a nice thing.

Handmade From Scratch, Every Batch

Everything at Krumb is made by hand from scratch. Founder Sadhbh Baker opened the bakery on the Ormeau Road in 2024 after 15 years in some of Ireland's finest kitchens, and that experience is in every bake we make. The tiramisu, in both its forms, is no exception.

The sharing dessert is made in small batches and is not always available every day, so if it is something you are planning around, it is worth getting in touch ahead of your visit or keeping an eye on what is in the cabinet when you arrive. The cookie tends to be a more regular feature of our daily sweet selection.

Our full sweet cabinet also includes lemon meringue tart, strawberry tart, financiers, salted caramel brownies, scones and our Cutie Pies mini tarts. There is always something worth trying, and often something new.

A Dessert Worth Sharing (Or Not)

The sharing tiramisu is brilliant for a birthday, a celebration, or an afternoon when you and someone you like both need a treat. It is the kind of dessert that brings people together over a table and makes the occasion feel a bit special. That is what food should do.

But the tiramisu cookie? That one is yours. You do not have to share it with anyone. We fully support that decision.

Either way, come and find us on the Ormeau Road. We will have something ready for you.
